Our wines

are a reflection of the Palatinate landscape

In the vineyards around Kirchheim, there is evidence that the Romans planted the first vines 2000 years ago, bottled the wine and shipped it across the Rhine. Nestled between the Odenwald and the Haardtwald, the Rhine Graben in the Palatinate has shaped a unique landscape with its very special microclimate over thousands of years. With around 2,000 hours of sunshine a year, the mildest climate zone in Germany develops in this location, which now allows lemons, figs and palms to thrive alongside chestnuts and almonds. The changing soils with predominantly sand, marl, clay, loam and especially limestone form an excellent basis for the good growth of classic-traditional but also modern grape varieties such as Chardonnay or Sauvignon Blanc.

In the Mediterranean climate of the Palatinate Rhine Valley, the grapes thrive magnificently. Let us convince you of the quality and variety of our wines!

Our vineyards

show the diversity and uniqueness of the region

Our vineyards are situated in different locations around the small wine-growing village of Kirchheim, which is located north of Bad Dürkheim, directly on the Palatinate Wine Route. About 60 percent of the vineyards are planted with white grapes, the rest with blue grapes. The Riesling represents the lion's share in the white wine segment. This is followed immediately by Sauvignon Blanc and the great Pinot classics such as Pinot Gris, which has a centuries-old tradition in the Palatinate region and is known as Ruländer. Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay complete the white trio.

Müller-Thurgau, a classic, is just as much at home here as Scheurebe. A grape variety with tradition and yet relatively new to us is Grüner Veltliner, which also finds a home where Riesling is successfully cultivated. Among the blue grape varieties, Pinot Noir cultivated, as are Saint Laurent, Blauer Portugieser and now also Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

We pay special attention to new, modern, varieties - so-called PIWIs - which stands for "fungus resistant". These vines are new breeds which, due to their high resistance to mildew, require very little plant protection, which in turn is very beneficial to the environment. Cabernet Blanc, Sauvitage, Cabernet Cortis and Satin Noir are just a few of these new vines, which promise a wonderful wine while making a very large contribution to CO2 reduction.

Innovative and traditional at the same time, we present you wonderfully fresh, full-fruited white and rosé wines. The red wines, which are aged exclusively by classic maceration and predominantly in wooden barrels, captivate with complex, regionally typical aromas and full-bodied, elegant tannins.

The pleasure of wine

you can taste with us

The gratitude for a successful vintage was and is always present in the heart - then as now.

With confidence, joy, and craftsmanship to the work: This is how unique wines are created, which carry the tangible profile of their makers. You too can taste the Palatinate!
